Welcome

Hyalite Counseling is a private practice based in Bozeman, Montana, offering therapy for teens, young adults, and adults across a wide range of presenting concerns. Many clients come in navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and the pressure of high expectations, among other challenges. This space is for people who are often functioning on the outside but feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted internally.

The goal of therapy here is not to “fix” you, but to help you better understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop coping strategies that feel realistic, supportive, and sustainable in your everyday life.

What Brings People To Therapy:

People come to Hyalite Counseling for many different reasons, but often it sounds like:

  • “I feel constantly overwhelmed and I don’t know how to slow my mind down.”

  • “I’m doing everything I’m supposed to, but I still feel anxious or unhappy.”

  • “My emotions feel really intense and hard to manage.”

  • “I’m stuck in cycles of overthinking, perfectionism, or burnout.”

  • “Something from my past still affects me more than I want it to.”

  • “My teen is struggling and I don’t know how to help them anymore.”

Whatever brings you here, it doesn’t have to be perfectly organized or clearly labeled before you reach out.

What Therapy Is Like Here:

Therapy at Hyalite Counseling is collaborative, supportive, and paced with intention. You are not expected to walk in with clear answers or a perfectly organized story.

Some sessions may focus on processing thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Others may be more focused on building practical tools for managing anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm. At times, therapy may involve slowing down enough to notice patterns that have been present for a long time.

You can expect a space that is:

  • Non-judgmental and grounded

  • Collaborative and client-centered

  • Focused on both insight and practical coping tools

  • Respectful of your pace and readiness

Therapy is tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Therapeutic Approach:

Therapy at Hyalite Counseling is primarily client-centered, relational, and trauma-informed, with EMDR as an optional modality used in trauma-focused work. This means therapy is guided by your experience, your goals, and the therapeutic relationship itself, while also incorporating structured approaches when helpful for healing and symptom relief.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) may be used to support processing distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to impact the present. Alongside this, therapy often focuses on building emotional awareness, strengthening internal regulation, and understanding patterns that show up in relationships and daily life.

Depending on your needs, therapy may include:

  • EMDR for trauma processing and emotional relief

  • Emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills

  • Nervous system awareness and grounding strategies

  • Exploring relational patterns and attachment experiences

  • Support with anxiety, overthinking, and perfectionism

  • Processing past experiences that continue to show up in the present

The work is both experiential and practical—focused on helping you gain insight, shift patterns that feel stuck, and build tools that support your life outside of therapy.

Many clients who come to Hyalite Counseling are high-functioning and capable, but internally overwhelmed, anxious, or carrying more than they can manage alone. Often, they have been pushing through for a long time before reaching out for support.

Therapy here is not about pushing harder or doing more. It is about understanding patterns that no longer serve you and finding ways to create more stability, clarity, and relief in your day-to-day life.

This practice also supports clients experiencing more complex concerns, including trauma histories, emotional dysregulation, and high-risk behaviors, in a way that balances structure with flexibility and understanding.

What Makes This Space Different:

What to Expect in the First Session:

The first session is a starting point, not a commitment to having everything figured out.

We will spend time talking about what has been going on, what is feeling most difficult right now, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to prepare anything in advance or have the “right” words.

It is completely normal to feel unsure at the beginning. The goal of the first session is simply to begin understanding your needs and whether this feels like a good fit moving forward.
